I think I would have the slide done at least.

CDNN investments has new colt slides. Would I be better off just buying a new one? I'm not sure where I would have to send the slide to get refinished.

AP&W does excellent work and have reasonable turnaround time. They also offer a wide variety of finishes including nickel of course.

go to www.apwcogan.com for more detail.

Depending on the detailed needs of the gun, Colt should be quite able to bring that gun back to like new, if that's what you wanted.

I guess what I'm wondering is will it hurt anything to leave it as is. I don't plan on selling it, and it's not a ccw. I just use it at the range, and it's a great shooter. Funds are tight, and later on I will probably get it done.
