I posted this on the springfield board but not to much feedback.I have a new SA 45 1911-A1 with the adjustable trigger, nite front sites and heinie rear sites and also the extended beaver tail.It looks just like the pro model on their website,I know its not i paid $650 and the pro is around $2500.Any way,one side it says Springfield armory and the other it says Defender.I know that colt has a defender but mine is a SA full size.I cant find any info on this Defender model any body got any ideas?
Thanks,Mike

re Springfield Defender

I bought one in a gun show parking lot several years ago...Unfortunately, my step father talked me out of it. It was
a nice pistol that came with 2 8-round mags, and after tweaking the extractor ran well. Accuracy was on par for a Springfield, and
the gun rarely stopped with any ammo I fed it, including some
cast bullet reloads and some brass that had been reloaded so
many times that it was beginning to look like rimmed. I'd rate it
as a good value, and wouldn't hesitate to buy mine back.

The only thing that I didn't care for was the squarish front sight. It snagged as it cleared leather, but a little light filing corrected it.

Overall a nice, no-frills pistol.

Shoot straight,
