at 25 yds my 1911 is shooting about 4 inches to the right.
I need to move the rear sight (fixed Wilson Combat) to the left a tad.

Is there a way to do this easily? 4 in. at 25 yds is probably a small amount of adjustment. 1/8inch?? 1/16inch??

The 1911 is a Commander style, and I assume I only need to make a very small adjustment to the rear sight. So I thought I'd make a mark on the sight and frame with white-out, and then tap the sight to the left until the white-out mark started to get out of line. Test fire, and re-adjust if necessary.

In other words, I'm using the white-out as a reference. Do ya'll get what I'm trying to say? :)
Thanks for any advice.

The whiteout is a good idea and wont mar the finish. As far as drifting the sight use a nylon tipped punch or a brass one as these have the smallest chance of marring the finish. Though I had one sight that wouldnt budge with anything but a steel punch as there wasnt much room to get the punch on the "flat" of the sight. Just be carefull and hold the gun securely :)
