The Sn was one assigned to Ithaca and would have produced in 1944. Can you post pictures of the pistol/components. I'm assuming that there are Colt markings on the slide. Correct? At some point, either before or after it left Government service, the slide was swapped out. Hard to tell when unless you have some history on ownership of the pistol...and even then it will be a guess.
I don't know if Ithaca shipment records exist somewhere - others will know. But, at best, they will show transfer to the US transfer facility that then transferred the pistols to the British government through the lend-lease program.
