Hi all
So just found a colt 1911 here in south africa my first 1911 and first firearm ever. The gun is old but in working condition there is a lot of stamps and engravings on it. I did a lookup on colts website and the serial number comes back as:
Year of Manufacture
1943
Model
MODEL 1911A1 MILITARY
Serial number is 1442201
There is a lend lease stamp on the right side of the gun with a date it reads "1952". The other makings and stamps are faded. what i am looking for shipping info or any history of this gun please.
There has been a lot of mods to this gun over this years. Theres a bar sto barrel, bow mar sights, light trigger and slide and frame were tightened.
