Bought one of the new repro 1911A1s today. Looks good and a pretty good repro at that. Checkered hammer, safety, and slide release...checkering a little coarse on the safety and slide, though. All the authentic markings, but the serial number does not pick up from the war-time production. Does have u-shaped rear sight. Now we shall see how it shoots.

Some close-up pics would be nice. If necessary I can host the photos for you if you e-mail them to me.

After reading this I went to the Colt webpage to look at this and am now completely bummed out.
I want one. And I want a Python too...
Anyone know where I can find some prices and dealers? (Tomorow I will start calling around the local shops here in Seattle.)

The 1991A1 when originally introduced, picked up with the military serial number from wartime production. Forgot to say, Congrats!

Paid $929. Could be better, could be worse. I'm one of those guys who hates to tell someone what I paid for something because then I hear how they paid less....Oh well...doesn't matter....had to have it.

I have a mental picture of your gun in my head. So your going to make it a shooter huh? Lets hear the results of the firing test. Thanks for letting us know, as your the first i've heard of to own one. Makes you original, I think the price you paid is good. Good for you Claybob, on your Colt pistol. P.S. I hate you
