Getting questions about my build...so here it is

Foster Frame (foster makes frames for Caspian) $100
Caspian Slide w/bomar cut about $230
I had a hammer, grip safety, sear and trigger had to purchase everything else
Total is about $700
I fit all the parts
Frame to slide
Barrel
grip safety
thumb safety
mainspring housing
a little fitting on the trigger
It is TIGHT , ACCURATE and RELIABLE.
oh yeah..custom grips by me
fun to build
Already got a frame for another build

3-4 hours on the slide
2 hours on the Barrel (Kart easy fit)
maybe another couple of hours on the grip safety

Those three things took the majority of the time

About a month to build...working after work and weekends

Also considering a build

My gunsmithing skills are quite limiting, I have put together from scratch 2 AR-15s and can detail strip a Glock blindfolded. How much more difficult is assembling a Caspian 1911 assuming I have them do as much of the assembly and fitting as possible?

Thanks,

Donato.

Ummmm Wrong Caspian makes the frames then if there
are any small problems that come up they sell them as
Seconds with the Foster Name stamped on them..
they are still with in all specs just something not right
for a Grade A stamp...

Now your pistols looks great and the targets shows that
everything came in to place well.

please post about your second one when you get it done too.

From what I understand you are incorrect. Foster makes the frames and slides as Foster is the parent company of Caspian. Caspian says what stays or goes....and Foster will turn around and sell them as Blem.

That's the way I understand it....Maybe Gary could chime in and correct any, or, all of us.
