Looks like I might have finally traded off my Kimber Compact Custom. I have a deal in the works for a lightweight officers model with the blue finish. Nothing wrong with my Kimber, just missing the pony! The LW is in the blue finish and I was wondering if Colt ever slipped any of the black guns out of the factory with painted stainless slides? I'm looking to do a few mods like a two tone. Black frame stainless or hard chrome slide, stainless or HC beavertail and MSH, slide release, etc.. OK AKA: Kimber CDP. But I have always liked this look long before Kimber started marketing it, minus the dehorn.

Good find. There were several articles written a number of years ago extolling the accuracy of the lightweight Officers Model. I have owned a couple over the years and loved them. Reliable, good shooters, and made a great carry peice.

Any time one trades a Kimber for a Colt, they have traded "up". Congrats.
