I just picked up a Colt Series 80 Mark IV 1911 in 9mm. It's had quite a bit of custom work done to it. It shoots real nice and accurate. The only problem I've found is the two piece guide rod that you need a hex wrench to take out, a real pain for cleaning. I looked through the Brownells catalog, and it only lists a couple of items specific to the 9mm, like the magazine, but doesn't even list a barrel.

So, should I keep the guide rod? Where do I get parts? Who makes the best mags? Any suggestions for me in general? TIA

NAA - didn't take it a criticism at all. Not every gun is going to be right for everyone. I went for years saying I wouldn't own a 9mm, but this one is great, for me anyway.
