Just picked up my new stainless steel Kobra (thanks to Keith Brown for the order!) and spent a few mins at the range giving it a try. A little background, I haven't spent any time firing a weapon since my Army days back in the 70's and my eyes just ain't what they used to be. However I was really impressed with the accuracy of the Kobra as well as a much smaller amount of recoil then expected/remembered from the Army 1911's. At any rate I fired 50 rounds of Federal 185 grain match ammo and all of the groupings were within 2 inches. I managed a few dead center shots and I'm here to tell you it speaks more to the gun then it does to the shooter at this point. Also couldn't believe how smooth the trigger pull on this gun was. All in all I'm more than a little impressed and am looking forward to spending more time improving my skills. I'm going to try some 165 grain Federal Hydra Shock for my next session as well as another box of the Federal match ammo.
