Just wanted to say hi from Maine been reading a lot thinking of my first 1911 not sure if a kimber custom II or Sa loaded any help would be appreciated

Either or both would be great. I chose Kimber first, but eventually got into the Springfields too.

They are both great guns. I give the edge to Kimber, but like them both.

I say whichever one looks best to you, choose.

I've got a Springer and a Kimber and I'd say go with the Springfield. You get more for the money, a better warranty, the best customer service in the industry (from reports and my one phone call to them which solved a non-1911 issue), an honest to goodness Custom Shop and now the SA 1911's are manufactured from US sourced forgings.

Welcome and I like the SA although I do not have that model. Also have Kimbers, but not the model you are looking at. I would vote SA myself.
