OOooohhhh, That would be frickin' AWESOME!!!! Maybe Springfield actually read the SA Wishlist thread where half the replies were asking for a 2011.. .... Where do I get in line for one?!?!?
Edited to add: Please don't give it a dumb name and emblazen it across the slide like Garrison, Emissary or Range Officer... in fact how bout no name at all - leave the slide BLANK with just the classic Springfield Armory on the one side. Or maybe just call it "Springfield Armory 2011"?
If Springfield did read the Wishlist thread - PLEASE, please, please release a Custom Shop'd EMP Pro next!!!!
Looks like a Gen 2 Staccato, but the slide is engraved "Springfield Armory" and uses their hammer. I can't read the frame engraving forward of the slide stop pin.
I hadn't thought of that, but it has been done before; most recently with KC Eusebio and a Limcat marked for his Team Taurus job, and in the early days of Team S&W with SW1911 slides on STI receivers.
From what I remember, the only Hicap 1911 Wilson offered to customers was a 10rd 45 ACP. I think that was patterned after the BUL M5. It was called the KZ45.
I figured it was only a matter of time before Springfield produced a 2011. I just hope it's executed well. I wouldn't mind having a back up to my Staccato.
What kind of magazine does it take? Springfield proprietary? XD? Staccato?
