I am a very big fan of polishing products provided by Ken Schwartz. He has inroads to both traditional Japanese waterstones (including naturals) and new "cutting edge" pastes and emulsions.

I ordered a few stones from him last night, and he also is sending me a new alumina emulsion, that used in conjunction with kangaroo hide over glass, takes edges out to 640,000 grit.

Now, other than dissecting atoms at CERN I cannot really imagine a practical use for such a level, other than for the knives of sushi chefs preparing fugu. However, he has it, I want it for my clients, and I just happen to have that kangaroo fitting...
