I shoot a very modified HK USP compact (21 round open gun).
Now my lucky little 7yearold is now partially equipment sponsored by STI
(Needs to quit borrowing dads).
We have a new wide lower coming and need to build the upper.
I have secured a 9mil barrel thats on the way (Bushing type) and need to know if it will fit in a stock gi slide? Do I need a 9mill slide?
I say this because I have a few singers and colts laying around
not to mention some nice slabside's I cannot identify.
So is the barrel the same except for the bore?
Thanks guys.
I will post a pic of my son and his new toy as soon as its built.

Terry:

Welcome to the forum.

As your post indicates, this is a gunsmithing question. We have a gunsmithing forum and I am moving this there.

Take care,

You'll need a 9mm slide. The breechface of a .45 slide is too big to effectively cycle 9mm rounds. This is due to the positioning of the ejector. And speaking of ejector, you'll need to change that out as well, along with the extractor, firing pin, and slide stop.

"few singers and colts laying around"
Not complete (I wish) but parts.
My father is a retired gunsmith. :) He has stashed alot of stuff over the years. He is just now starting the trickle down effect to me.
He kept everything. Now its my turn to try.
