Hi from Arkansas!

I've never owned a gun and I've only shot a couple => a Daisy and Red Rider :biglaugh:

I guess I'll work my way through the forum to find the history of the 1911 to present time, so I can make a somewhat educated purchase...

If anyone can point me to some cool background info (or purchasing help) on the 1911 that would great!

You currently live in a state that has in my opinion 2 of the best 1911 makers there are. Berryville Ark. Wilson Combat and NightHawk Customs. I own a Wilson and a NightHawk and 2 Dan Wessons and my carry piece is a 4inch Kimber.

I'm on the last chapter of that book right now. It's been a great book to create a historical overview for me. I still have much to learn about the 1911, but have a much better idea thanks to Patrick Sweeney's book.

What I like is that it's hardbound with lot's of great supporting pics.
