I just got a fine pre-owned and certified S&W 1911 (Black Beauty) coming my way in a week or so. Very excited. Long time desire for a 1911, first one in the stable.

I like having 5-6 mags around. Suggestions for extras?
Ive read about Chip McCormicks, Checkmates, and Wilsons...

Opinions?

10 round CMC Power Mags are great for the range. The added weight reduces recoil a little as well. Get them on sale at Midway.

scribe,Congrats on a fine 1911!
I'm a 108285 fan also. One of my favorites.

I understand "pre-owned";but,who "certified" it?

I like KimPro Tac mags.

Congrats on the S&W. I have the same model and it has been very reliable. Not one failure. See the Brownell's link below for spare mags. They are manufactured by ACT magazines and are what S&W issues with the gun. I have a couple of these and they are great mags.

Good luck and have fun with your new gun.

Good luck with your new pistol.

A hint for forum:

You can only call it a stable if the pistols are Colts. Gotta have a horsey to get in the stable.

However, you can use battery, lotsa folks like that one.:biglaugh:

Welcome aboard.

:) I was trying to give it the BMW lingo of sounding checked over. It's not certified at all... Go it recently on Gunbroker. The dealer selling it however,
got on the phone and answered each of my detailed questions about it, function-checked it for me, etc. He went out of his way to assure me on its
quality.
