I just got a STI edge .40 cal and I couldn't be happier with the gun. Not a huge fan of the .40 cal but it'll work for now. Does anyone know if I can get the pistol hard chromed? And if so what do you think if a good price. The pistol is black. Thanks!!

Sure you can get the metal parts hard chromed. A good Hard Chrome job on a 1911 usually runs from $200 to $250.

Other than a hard hat treatment, it's the toughest finish there is.

Hard chromed is totally an option and very popular. My DVC is hard chromed - haven't had it that long but so far I've been quite impressed.

I've got another "Frankengun" 2011 that I'm waiting on a frame from Phoenix Trinity to finish, and for that I'll be sending it Metalife for hard chroming. They do the whole pistol for $155.
