I thought I would share a story about an older Colt 1911 Governmnet Model.

20 years ago I bought a Custom Colt for Bullseye shooting. Well, along came marriage, kids and responsibilities.....and the Colt was sold. Fortunately, the gun went to a friend who simply tucked it away in his gun safe. Well, the itch to shoot a competition gun returned and I called my friend and asked if the gun was still around. He said "sure, come get it!". Driving over I was disappointed that I had not kept records of who did the work on the gun and what exactly was done. My friend handed me the gun rug with the instruction manual and stapled inside the manual was this note:

Custom Colt Pre-70's Series (1969) .45 ACP built by Dave Walters.

Features:

Bar-Sto Match Grade Barrell
Bar-Sto Match Grade Bushing
Bo-Mar Adjustable Sights
Beavertail Safety
Magazine Well Beveled
Checkered Mainspring Housing
Checkered Front Strap
Non-Glare Finish of Slide
Ultralight Trigger
Barrell Ramp Polished

I can't wait to shoot!!

Howard

A BIG WELCOME BACK and WELCOME HERE. Great story with a nice semi ending. Can you get a few more pics of that for us. Looks great. I have a buddy that has my Norinco from about 20 years ago that I'm waiting to get back, but it may be another 20 years. Remember to post a range report. :)
