I have a Colt Commander 70 series, which is pretty much in the same condition as when it was new, except for some nice Cocobolo grips I had installed. My problem is with the trigger. Compared to most other 1911s I have seen, it has a fairly short trigger. I can't remember the exact dimensions from when I measured it, but it is somewhere around the neighborhood of 5.7 cm maybe? Combined with my fairly large hands, it just isn't as comfortable as others I have held with the longer trigger. I guess my newbie question would have to be what kind of trigger would you recommend? I have heard good things about the Videki triggers, and I like their three hole look, but I heard they are also not shipping anymore. I would like just a drop-in trigger, since I'm not aware of any gunsmiths close to home. Also what are some opinions about those polishing stones that fit in the trigger track that I saw in Brownells? The inside of my frame is pretty rough in there, but I was wondering if I could just gently polish that up with these stones, or would I have the potential to do more harm than good?

Thanks in advance to everyone who can help me out here.

Thanks guys. I just read that bit in the How To section, and I think I may try my hand at fitting the trigger myself. That way I know I'll be happy with it, plus it will give me an excuse to spend more time getting to know my piece... just hope the girlfriend doesn't get jealous... :) Appreciate the help,
