Hello all, I am a long-time lurker, and first time poster. I am new to 1911's, and just bought a Stainless Gold Match. Under the ejection port it is marked "Classic Stainless Gold Match". Is this the same as a Series 1, or is it from something before Series 2. The serial number is in the K057xxx range, if that helps. This pistol is a tackdriver, and I am loving it so far. Thanks (in advance) for any input...........dave

It just says "Classic Stainless Gold Match", not "Classic Stainless Gold Match II"? If it dosen't have a "II", then its a Series I. You can also check on the frame, beside the disconnector that protrudes next to the ejector. If there's nothing there, its a Series I. If there is a smaller plunger, then its a Series II. Have fun.

Hope this helps.
