Nickel Plated 38 Super

How come these are so hard to find in stock? I really want one. There’s one on Gunbroker but I‘ve never purchased a gun off of there before. Do they have a list of FFLs like Classic Firearms does. My LGS is listed on file there. Not sure if they are on Gunbroker. The one on there is $700 which seems a little high for a RIA but maybe since it’s nickel plated it cost more. What do you guys and gals think?

EDIT: Just went through the buy it now process to see what the total price would come to and with shipping and tax it comes out to right at $800 plus the $25 transfer fee. But my LGS is listed on there and they have their FFL on file.

I see them locally (central Cal) every now and then for about $550 or $600.

I just picked up one at my favorite LGS. Cost was $635 plus tax. This particular store sells on VERY low margins so it will be hard to find at that price so I would say anything under $700 is a great price. MSRP is about $850 for the new ones.
But you are correct, they are scarce as hens teeth. Don’t feel bad about paying $800 if that is what you want and don’t want to wait.
I will say, the finish isn’t a mirror. Mine came with very fine “scratches” on it. I plan on using some Flitz to try and get rid of those. Without those “scratches” it would be a mirror finish.
I have not shot it yet so can’t give a range report.
