When did NH go from Permacoat coating to the current black finish? 2011, 2012?

I believe it was mid to late 2011 when we switched completely to the nitride finish on our black guns. I will get a definite answer first thing Monday and report back.

Hit with some alcohol or Safariland Breakfree CLP and you'll know immediately.

(of course you already know not to use that stuff on melonite/hardhat/nitride)

Called NHC today talked to CS. My 2012 Predator was born Sept 2012. Has nitride finish. Still trying to find out if my 2009 Lady is Permacoat or Nitride. I would like to have it hard chromed. It is in mint condition and I want to shoot it without creating wear.BR

We started introducing the nitride finish into production in 2011. I believe that by the end of 2011 we had switched all of our black guns to nitride. I have Michael, our firearms shipping and receiving manager, double checking me on this. He has been out sick part of yesterday and today but as soon as he gets me the info I will make sure to inform you all.

My Talon is a 08 build and has the permcote finish and i wouldn't have it any other way!!!!

A pistol can be refinished in nitride if it's worn looking.
