I called up my gun dealer friday about the Mini 14 ranch rifle (SS and synthetic stock)and he went to order ( his price was $165 cheaper) just got a call that they are currently out of that rifle so i will have to wait a few weeks, oh well.

Unless you're a CA resident, don't waste your money on it. Ruger's factory high caps are expensive and hard to find. You should look into an AK-47 variant if you want a cheap plinker.

I agree. If you want to outfit your Mini with hicaps, you may be better off in the long run to go with an AK or AR variant. It doesn't take long to make up that $300-$400 difference with magazines these days. On the other hand, if you just want one or two hi caps to go with your gun, then the Mini 14 is still a good mid priced 223 rifle.
