Umm, you kind of lost credibility when you said the gun wasn't altered.......except for swapping out the thumb safety and polishing the disconnect, sear, and hammer.

No manufacture is responsible for fixing something that is not in original condition as it left the factory. No one knows whether or not you reassembled the gun correctly. Para does know that someone disassembled the gun and it wasn't done at the factory, therefore warranty is void.

If you do the same thing with a Kimber, same exact thing will happen, they will void the warranty. All the gun companies will do exactly the same thing.
