What has been your experience with this finish? I believe it is from Robar. Is it a good finish for stainless guns with lots of wear on the frame rails?

I haven't used it myself Sam but I have heard both positive and negative on it.
A lot of people seem to state it wears very quick (quicker than it should anyway).

I've got 2 1911's with NP3 finish. the only bad thing I can say about it is, it's make the gun slipperly. I've got skateboard tape everywhere I grip the gun, including the area just behind the slide serrations. As far as how tough it is, I had a comp with NP3 on it,and. decided to replace it, the comp not the finish. Hit it with a propane torch to melt the lock tite, and the finish turned kind of black and blue. took some flitz and polished it, and damn if the finish didn't come right back. these 2 gun were plated about 8 or 9 years ago I had no problems with it.
