Well, someone mentioned having an "official" SR1911 pic thread and I got to thinking it would be a nice idea to keep a running look at the pistol and what others are doing to it. So, here are a few pics of the first on that came in here to be reviewed and customized. Since that time a number have crossed the bench here and it has always been a pleasure.

I look forward to seeing what you guys are doing with them and will post pics here from time to time also with Rugers that are modified here. And perhaps it will even get stuck over time. ;-)

Respectfully,

Hopefully this and your review of the SR1911 will both get sticky'd....I dug it out from the bottm of the line-up earlier this week lol.

Just grips for now.

I cant decide what I want to do to her yet (even though Ive had it since June), so the only thing Ive changed is grips. Eventually i will either have the blued parts melonited, or replace them with stainless....I just cant make up my mind on which way to go with it:dope:
Burl Walnut grips from Sarge:

Switched to these tri-wood grips Skosh sent me for xmas. Thanks bro:D

The only thing I've done with mine is replace the trigger with an STI trigger.

I've since put the original factory trigger back in as I want to keep it stock. Shoots just fine as is, so why mess with a good thing. ;)

Here is mine.

I have chainlink blued coming as well as a single guide rod and barrel nut in black and a fresh coat of powdercoat on the grips to match my M.A.S.T. striker tool

OH, wanting a clinder slide ultra lite hammer and would love to find a beavetail grip that had either chain link or knurling instead of the slats i keep finding.

Here's #1 and #3:

And #1 with a compensator next to my compensated Springfield

I have a Springfield NM frame that was a pin gun years back and it had scope mount holes on both sides of the frame. Had a local gunsmith weld up the holds and it hard to see any trace of them. He did a great job but said he didn't want to do any more..

When I got the gun I wanted to have them welded up but I'm kinda getting used to the holes now. I did get some rather expensive quotes to fix it though. Must be a real PIA to fix.

I have had a picture post going since November. Sorry its not "Official"

See, there was the mistake. Yours wasn't titled as "Official" so it wasn't official. :D (<--joke) Looks like most of the ones in that thread (started before the Ruger subforum was formed) are here now. BTW, once this thread (or the other one) gets enough pics, I'll sticky it and then it will be "Official." :D

Keep them coming.
