Went to thre range fri afternoon as some sub-gunners were leaving, after they left I noticed that the ground was littered with 45 brass, I picked about 150-200 cases, all appear to be once-fired, the head stamp is "cbc"along with "45auto" on top, it is, of course, boxer primed, Who is "cbc"? what does anyone know about this brass? trash? worthwhile? primer pockets crimped?

CBC is MagTech Recreational Products. My only experience with MagTech brass is in .357 where I had 6 split cases in a box of 50 factory loads. I tossed those cases in the scrap bucket.

I've heard that reloading brass from open bolt sub guns is not wise. Can't remember why though... somebody jump in here.

Hello. Sometimes the case is partially extracted while the bullet's still in the barrel and the case really bulges. I have shot some of this in .45ACP, but did lose some cases when trying to resize. Also, I used these only for light target loads, but experienced no problems. If the submachine gun did extract "early", you will h ave no problems noting the "pregant" cases.

Best.
