Hey all,
I'll get right to the point here....
Does the MC Operator have the series 70 firing system?
Thanks!

No SA pistols use a series 80 style firing system. All newer SA pistols minus custom shop guns, use the ILS system in the MSH.

So yes, the Operator is a series 70 style gun.

The ILS is not in lieu of the firing pin block, the titanium firing pin is. But you are correct, Springfield does not use a firing pin block in their 1911's.

Yea I worded that weird, I wasn't saying that the ILS is in place of a firing pin safety.

Yes, the MC Operator has the series 70 firing system, just like the original Colt 1911 pistols.

However, SA 1911 pistols have an ILS system in the mainspring housing.
This useless gimmick can be easily removed and thrown in the trash, where it belongs.

Thanks for the replies!
Leaning toward the 2015 model MC Operator....I like the front strap treatment vs the Pach rubber grips of the "old" model.
