Hi, my name is Larry Correia. I do not post on this board very often but I lurk here quite a bit. (Die hard Springfield fan, just can't help myself)

I have been selling embroidered MOLON LABE hats on www.thefiringline.com for some time now, and I have been receiving requests from people on other gun boards interested in these hats. I received an e-mail from one of the moderators here earlier, so here you go.

The ordering information is availible at:
www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=685416&t=5783#post685416

There is also a link provided with some pictures, I hope to have more up shortly.

Thanks.

An interesting sidelight involves a famous cannon from the Texas Revolution. The Mexican Army told a group of Texicans to surrender a cannon that was in their possession. They said "Come and take it!", and the cannon was henceforth known by many as the Come and Take It Cannon. One of the revolution's guidons was embroidered with those words and a picture of a cannon.

In all the years I knew about that cannon, and all the times I've seen the Come and Take It flag, I never knew that the Texan defenders might well have been quoting Leonidas. (Were they that well educated, or was it coincidence?)

[Just thought I would add a picture of the flag.]

Another Leonidas quote:

Originally posted by http://www.airassault.com/TaeKwonDo/Handbook/History/Leonidas.htm:

When Leonidas was preparing to make his stand, a Persian envoy arrived. The envoy explained to Leonidas the futility of trying to resist the advance of the huge Persian army.

"Our archers are so numerous," said the envoy, "that the flight of their arrows darkens the sun."

"So much the better," replied Leonidas, "for we shall fight them in the shade."

Update:

The hats are finished. The factory has sent them via Fed Ex. They have not arrived yet, but I'm hoping they get here this weekend. I will get them in the mail as fast as I can.

The order is short 1 dozen tan hats. The factory will have these done next week. These will have to go to people who got their orders in late, that seems to be the fairest way to go.

But most everybody else should be getting theirs in the mail pretty soon.

Thanks

Cool,

I can't wait. It's so seldom that there's something in the mail I REALLY want. I eagerly await it's arrival...

When confronted by a difficult problem, you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question, " How would the Lone Ranger handle this?"

I believe it's pronounced "mo-lone lah-veh".

While jpwright's post was pretty good. I believe this is a more concise explanation here: http://www.thefiringline.com/HCI/molon_labe.htm
