P320 range trip, M18 shakedown session

Had a P320 range session this afternoon.

Dang near summertime weather. Pollen & all. Can't say I'm ready for any of this....maybe winter isn't done with us and we'll get a bit more cool weather before global warming occurs. :)





Gave it my normal routine, 10yds, standing, both paws on the weapon, doubles on torso then raise up onto the noggin for a third. Blazer Brass 124gr fmj.

Started with 80 rds from the new M18.
Zero troubles. Ran smoothly & comfortably.
Not a fan of front night sight...I see a fiber optic front in the future.



Already planning on swapping out the slide release lever with one from Align Tactical like I did on the X-Five.





Wrapped up with 68 rounds in the X-Five, same failure drill as on the M18. Trouble free...did make a zero adjustment to the optic afterwards.

If you miss the winter I'll trade ya. It's freezing cold up here and I still miss the summer.

I've got an M17-320, but the M18 setup looks tempting and I'm thinking of just buying an upper half for mine.

Shame we can't level out the weather nation-wide.....socialist weather ?? :ROFLMAO:




M17 has been getting some excellent reviews from everyone.
If I'd planned on keeping it with the irons, then I would have likely gone M17.

You hit on a neat point about the 320 series....easy swapping. (y)

I could see where this would be really useful for folks.

Socialist weather would suck for everyone except over the White House and Congress where it'd be sunny and 70 degrees year-round.

we almost have the same set up... I have the X5 legion frame and a M17 frame but my slide is with the PMM comp to make it flush to the dust cover !

That first session was promising.

It was simply a matter of watching the font sight...which has mediocre visibility for me. Replacing it with a taller Dawson fiber optic front and mounting an Sig Romeo1Pro red dot which has an integral rear sight channel.

The gun itself recovered well and the trigger was to my liking.
The thumb safety use is hardwired into my grip, although, I would like to find one with a wider ledge if such an aftermarket part exists.
