Just saw an article in ARifleman on the new Para PDA 9mm
(playin' catch-up with SA-EMP?) and they show a 6 inch
.45 'not so wide-body' 1911A1 high capacity platform.
Has a Forum member seen or held one?
Six inch 1911's were the rage in the 80's and then smaller
got the nod and guns shrank to really, really small. Holster
makers rarely stock or custom-order-only models for that
extra inch of slide. I'm sure I've got a holster in my Box of
Dead Cow that fits a long slide something...oh it only fits my
PolyAustrian Model 17L...darn!
So...everything old is new again...and I need another holster!

I just read the same article.I see they retail for over thirteen hundred dollars.I still remember talking to the Para Ord rep at the 2005 Shot Show, and I asked him if they were ever going to come out with a longslide, and he told me "absolutely not"I'm glad they changed their mind.I've been wanting a longslide ever since I shot a buddy's STI 6" Trojan.I'm just trying to keep the price under a grand.I'm going to be looking at these at the Shot Show next week though.

Zounds, Pete!

That's a tall rear sight you've got there.
What slide did you build with?
Holster ?

Caspian for the slide. I never did manage to find a holster for it. The few times I did carry it, I tucked it into an inside pocket of a winter coat. The weight didn't bother me.
