Just trying to expand my knowledge regarding finishes. I got an opinion today that a parkerized finish is better that a blued finish on all aspects. Please shed some light on this issue. I tried doing a search but all threads are expired. Thank you.

A parkerized finish is rougher than a blued finish and will hold oil better. (good for corrosion resistance)

The parkerized finish will not reflect light as a blue finish will. (tactically important in some situations)

Attractiveness is in the eye of the beholder.

My dad's "Army .45" was Parkerized in a sort of greenish-gray. For a long time, I thought that was what a 1911 always looked like.
In one episode of MASH, Hawkeye is firing his pistol, and the shiny, blued slide just looks completely wrong to me.

By the way, that off-green, rough, supremely ugly Parkerized finish lasted and lasted.
