I noticed my RIA appears to have a "soft & thin" parkerized finish. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, having played with home brewed parkerizing, and having a small stainless pan built to do this in. I was wondering how well the Brownells "Genuine, Original, Parker Manganese Phosphate Solution " works. I can get everything bead blasted, in preparation. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Haven't noticed soft or thin parking on my RIA, but the slide and frame are colored differently, as if they were parked separately. Would like to get it all done for uniformity one of these days.

Yes the color difference is one of the other irritating things I wanted to correct. I carry mine A LOT in an IWB holster, and have noticed wear much faster than any other parkerized pistol I carry.

I used solution from Palmetto Enterprises, it is a deep dark black maganese finish. Just dilute 9 parts water, heat to 180 and throw your prepped parts in for about 10 minutes.
