I finally decided which gun to buy, a new Patriot Marksman. I have belabored this decision for months!
I shot several Springfield models at the local range, and handled quite a few other guns, but the Dan Wessons I handled seemed the finest workmanship to my untrained eye.
This will be my first 1911 and first auto, but I really felt that the Patriot offered the best value in my price range.
-match grade barrel
-trigger job
-excellent slide - to - frame fit on the 3 I saw.
-accurate
-intuitively felt like "my gun" (the most important criteria.)
My local store doesn't stock Dan Wesson's, so they will order it, Blued, if available, or if not, then stainless.
The blueing on the Dan Wesson's I saw was stunningly beautiful.
Baker, with no particularly pithy signature today.
