Does anyone know of or carry themselves, a Colt single action army (peacemaker) or any of its variants on or off duty? I'm curious to know if any LEOS are still carrying this venerable old arm so unique to our culture and history.

I have only read about older Southwestern Peace Officers, who carried a single action after the 30's. I suppose there may still be someone out there but I don't know.

A "thumb buster" is a pretty big chunk of iron to be packing in a concealed manner but then again so is a DA .44/.41/.357 mag or a large frame .38 Special and plenty of cops carry those OD.

I don't know if there are many lawmen carrying a SAA for duty use, there may be a bunch in the South West that carry them for court and other social functions.

I did know an old time cop that still carried a .45 SAA as late as the early to mid '50's. I know that I would not have wanted to trade lead with him.
