It isn't a 1911, as the hammer is not exposed. The grip safety pivots on the other end. It seems to be more of a striker fired pistol to me. considering the trigger it appears to be single action.

The ease of pulling the slide back is a big plus for many people. I know of some that have arthritis in their hands and semi-autos are a big hassle for them. So this may be fairly popular with these kinds of people and others with weak hands.

The only plastic frame 1911 I know of is the one made by EAA in their .45 ACP Witness series. It is full size and has a plastic frame and uses regular 1911 magazines too.

It looks like someone took a Glock and hammered in an upside down grip safety. Cool!

A lot of people think that "1911" is a generic term for any semi-auto pistol that shares the same general appearance and/or operation. Sort of like how every black semi-auto rifle is an AR-15 these days, or that every lever-action rifle is a Winchester, even if it says "Marlin" on the side.

Anyway, it looks like an okay pistol but is really only meant for that niche segment where some folks may want something better than a mouse gun but can't easily handle a compact 9mm. It looks to me like a beefed-up M&P .22 Compact with a lemon squeezer on the back of it.

It looks like an M&P Shield with a grip safety. Likely a good gun.

Does not look like or work like a 1911.

BYT there already are polymer 1911s. Wilson has made some, others as well I think.

On another forum, a guy commented that the only 1911 he'd owned was a S&W 4566.
