Does any one have an opinion regarding “plated” vs. “jacketed” bullets?

I use the Copper jacketed pistol bullets because you do not get any leading in the barrel. That is my main reason but, I often wandered if the lead bullet deform when the nose of the bullet strikes the feeding ramp.

I moved to plated after I got tired of removing lead from shooting cast bullets. They work great for me. I do use jacketed for hunting and carrying ammo. The plated are less expensive then jacketed and produce less wear and tear on the barrel.

I load primarily 44mag and 45acp.
