Just traded into a Springfield 1911 A1. I cant decided exactly what it is. It serial number is ww12*** And a 2003 Imbel Itajuba under grip, so I guess it was made in 03 in Brazil. It has thumb safeties on both sides, and black plastic grips. It does not have the Springfield Crest on the slide. And it has plain GI sights. There are a few changes I want to make to it, Would like to change sights and install a full guide rod I dont like the way the spring crinkles up. Hope it performs as good as my Gold Cup.

GI guns do not come with ambi safeties. Someone worked on that one. If you have any doubts take it to a good smith for an inspect. More guns have been ruined by home smiths then anyone can count.
