I suggest that you contact Mr. Brown to see if he is able to do the work you are interested in having done. If I remember correctly, several months ago I saw a notice that he was not taking in any new pistolsmithing work due to the attention his pistol manufacturing efforts needed. This may not longer be the case so a call will be in your best interest. Also, if he is not taking in new work you might ask him for a recommendation.

I am in EAGER anticipation of getting these mods done on MY gun! I think the checkering in the photo is 20LPI, but can't tell for sure. Does anyone find this checkering density bothersome? I only have a Kimber Tactical Custom that is checkered and I think it's 30LPI?

I suggest that you visit your local Springfield dealer and handle a TRP or Trophy Match, an indoor range that will let you rent one will be even better. For these pistols Springfield uses 20 PLI checkering, usually with very sharp points. This way you can see for yourself. This is what the FBI wanted, and some people really like the coarse checkering, others like the coarse checkering if the points are broken, and some really do not like it at all. your results will vary.
