Are carbon fiber/ polymer ok for use in a target gun? Im looking to build up a target gun and found several receivers. But some are carbon fiber. How do these hold up? ligheter weight would be nice but if im gonna have to give up durability im gonna pass.

The Cavarms receivers are supposed to be very well built. I plan on picking one up myself for a future build. The Vulcan lower receivers have also gotten little complaints from folks that have built one. I would not hesitate in buying either. the Vulcan receiver just gives you the option of stock and pistol grip choices and the Cavarms does not.

I don't have any experience with their AR15 lowers, but everything else I have seen from Vulcan (Hesse re-named) has been poor quality. Hopefully they have done some QC changes along with the name change, but that remains to be seen...

I've heard nothing but good about Cavalry Arms.

Vulcan/Hesse's problems have been with their firearm builds and not with their receivers. Their AK receivers are also very well liked.
