Does anyone have load suggestions for a 3" barrel 1911 in .45 ACP. The W231 loads I'm using in my 5" gun smoke A LOT out of the 3" gun. I'm looking for a light practice load for a 200 gr LSWC that doesn't make it look like I'm shooting black powder.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It isn't the powder that is doing most of the smoking. Most is from smoldering bullet lube. If you want to minimize smoke you will have to go to a jacketed or plated bullet. If the W231 still bothers you, try a single base powder like Vihtavouri.
