Hi,
Does it matter much what powder I use if my barrel is shorter than 5 inches??

Just curious, because I'm using W231 and wondered if I should maybe use a diiferent powder next time around- something that may work better with compact size barrels.

The powder that gives the best velocity in a long barrel "usually" does best in short ones also, unless we are going from a long rifle lenght to a short pistol barrel. I`d stay with what ever works and W231 is one of the best for the acp.

I use the exact same in my 4" and my 5" - if you're competing with it, you should double check with a chrony - just it make sure it makes the power factor you're looking for

I do compete in an "informal" IDPA match, but they don't chrony the loads. I'm not too worried about making major, but I want to be close.
