Hello,
I know this question is very basic, but does my pre series 2 classic custom need the barrel bushing tool for field strip and cleaning/oiling? Gun was bought used and did not come with any extra equipment. You have most likely guessed that this is my 1st 1911:biglaugh:

Call Kimber, let them know you have an original series Kimber, and ask for a manual. Inquire about a bushing wrench and I'll bet you even get one too.

You can probably turn the bushing by hand. However, it's not a bad idea to have a bushing tool and they are inexpensive. As mentioned, call Kimber and they will probably send you one free. Most of them are made out of plastic.
