The premier II is the same as the Thunder Ranch Specail just with fixed nite sights. For the same price!

swapping for a fixed site is usually not done but a few guys like Heinie and others make a fixed site designed to fit the adjustable grooves in the slide. The trick is to find one to fit the Baer cut.

Unless something has recently changed Heinie does not make a fixed sight to fit the Baer slide (I checked).

The rear sight is the reason I bought a TRS and not the PII.

The TRS also has a strong side safety only, where the PII has the ambi safety. Other minor differences are the trigger style, and the TRS comes with 3 mags (PII comes with one).

Just the differences I saw while looking at the website.

Check on the gunsmith forum. One of the Smiths over there made some a while back.

I agree, it can be done. But I don't think Heinie catalogs a replacement sight.

Heinie may not have one but for a picture of what they should look like see Heinie's web site.

Ned Christianson might be the guy who I was thinking had custom made these before. I performed a search with out any luck.
