Can anyone suggest how to refinish the sides of a Python hammer to remove scratches and make it look factory new again? I have considered fine steel wool, scotch brite, extra fine emery paper, etc. and am looking for suggestions.
I would use wet-or-dry paper in a grit that matches the brushed finish of the hammer, using kerosene or mineral spirits as lube. I've done this with no embed problems and matched the finish where the naked eye can't tell. Careful not to touch the hammer's mating surfaces...
