R.R. # 1013784 does not appear to have the notch hardened. It has the large NO prefix and the numbers appear to have been struck after finish. Eric

Here is the info on my Dulite finished type II:

NO.995383 does not have a hardened notch and the serial number is stamped after finishing.

here we have a type 2 rand all original 99% described it has the big lettering and n.y. abbreviated on the slide and the dulite finish allright the notch lock may be blued or hardened i can't really tell in this view under the bright lighting but see for yourself

here is the serial number it has the No. before it and looks like it starts with a 2.... there is a united states property stamp and the finish is gray so it has to be original dulite. best i can tell the numbers were put before the finish, i can see grey finish in the numbers. glad i could contribute hope this helps with your data collecting

Around here a Type I or II is like hen's teeth.
