Quick question for Raider owners about slide to frame fit.

Hey all. I'm new here but not new to firearms. I haven't had a 1911 in a few years(last one was a DW Valor). I missed having a 1911 so I just picked up a Raider(.45)(and a stingray in 9) that I ordered online. On the Raider there is a pretty decent amount of side to side, up/down movement (it definitely rattles)... if I move the slide up/down, side/side by hand... it pretty much wobbles... if that makes sense?

I completely understand this isn't a 2k+ hand fitted 1911. I just wasn't expecting it to be this loose. Especially from everything I've read and watched in the reviews on Tisas. And having handled other "budget" 1911's that have a much tighter side/frame fit... it was just surprising.

I'm definitely not knocking it. The trigger is great and I'm impressed with everything else. Just wanted to check with other Raider owners to ask if theirs is pretty loose too?

Thanks!

I just compared my Tisas Raider to one of my Colt Custom Shop Competitions in 45 ACP.
Neither has vertical movement and the very slight side to side is less in the Raider than the Colt.
How does your gun shoot???

Thank you for the response! As of right now I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet. I was hoping to yesterday but didn't wake up in time before the range near me closed(I work 3rd shift). I'm hoping this weekend I'll get to shoot it.
Did you post this on ARFcom too? My suggestion is to shoot it and see if it performs. I've had some variance from my samples, but they've run fine.

I did. But then I found this forum and figured it would be a better place.

I did shoot it. It shot ok. I had some(4) FTFeeds after around 70rds I shot 50rds of a range ammo that I bought at the range that they load on premises. It was pretty dirty stuff. Then 50 rds of WWB. Which is when the malfunctions started. I'm 100% blaming the range ammo. Like I said... it was pretty dirty ammo and the gun became sluggish after those 50rds... it was really caked on. If it would have stuck with WWB or something similar I don't think I would have had any issues. As for accuracy it was "ok" from what i could tell. I'm going to have to get it out again when I head up to the mountains in mid June and actually shoot it for accuracy from a rest... I was getting some flyers from it that I really didn't think it should have been getting... but that could have just been me... so I want to make sure before I worry about that.

With all that being said. I really like the Raider overall! The trigger on it is AMAZING!

The stingray was a great shooter and was 100% and very tight groups! Thankfully I didn't use any of the range ammo in that.
