I just so happened to take out my virtually stock Colt Mark IV Model 70 today. It's 30 years old with the tiny, "useless" military sights.
Here's a pic of my complete session with her. Offhand, indoor range. Not quite as impressive as your pic, but an average day for this "outdated" pistol with a 5# trigger. Please note the one-hole 5 shot group at 7 yards (I am proud of that!).
