I'm looking for a quality balance beam scale to double check my electronic scales.

I had high hopes for a Redding #2, given that all my other Redding stuff has been great. Unfortunately, their scale quality doesn't seem to be in the same league as the other gear if the one I received is any indication.

Looks as if the RCBS 10-10 is out of production, with the replacement being the M1000. However, the M1000 seems to be out of stock everywhere, and I can't seem to find reviews. Am curious if anyone has actually seen one.

...and that's what I ended up doing. That exact auction, in fact. Looks like the scale was manufactured in 1989, seems to have been very well looked after. Zeroed and calibrated perfectly with the test weights, and it's just ridiculously better than the previous scale. I guess they really don't make them like they used to.
