I have owned a Kimber Compact (stainless) for 2 years. Enjoy shooting it. One problem though. The shoulder on the recoil spring plug is "battered". This makes for difficult removal and insertion. On several occasions I have had to sand the battered shoulder to facilitate insertion. Two questions. What is causing this? How should this piece fit (snug? - loose?) Thanks is advance!
